KLE 500 fitting a gel seat pad.
The Kawasaki KLE500 has a notoriously uncomfortable seat and the gel seat
goes a long way to solving the problem. This is for fitting the Danmedicasouth medium sized seat with cover to the dip at the front of the KLEs seat.
1 - unscrew the nearside panel and use the ignition key to unlock the right hand panel and slip both off.
2 - two bolt headed screws into the gold coloured frame hold on the seat. The bolts are the back of the seat on either side. Once unbolted the seat slips back and up.
3 - strap the pad onto the seat. Leave a bit of slack for refitting the panels. If you have the straps tight across the seat base the panels will not slot back in below the seat.
4 - trim the velcro so that only the flat part is exposed, or else the rough part will catch your trousers. Do the final trim once the seat is refitted to your bike.
5 - refit the seat and side panels and you are finished.
I did this in half an hour and with the basic tools from the bikes own tool kit and scissors to trim the velcro.
