KLE Headlight Unit

Hi All,
I have just picked up a rather tired 92 model KLE500 - The plan is to do a bit of work to it and get it back on the road.

Unfortunately the front headlight and cowl are a bit mashed up and will need replacing. I was wondering if the newer style would fit ? the ones with the two lights like the new KLR.

It looks the same where it meets up with the centre fairing.

Any input would be appreciated.

Cheers

I have a '94 and am wondering the same thing.

KLE500's are scarce here in Australia but I'm going to try to find someone who has the later model so I can do a side by side comparo.

Failing that, I'm thinking of doing some sort of modification to the fairing to insert a set of twin headlights of some sort.

Nothing wrong with my stock headlight and fairing, I just want better lighting [compared to my V-Strom all other headlights are like carrying a torch to see with ]

Not that scarce Ock...where did you say you were? My Kle is an '06, theres a few in Melbourne. Only seen the gold frame with blue fairing tho. I could take some photos of the mountings on my day off this week. Going to do some work anyway. Let me know if theres anything specific you want to see.

Windsor NSW...... west of Shitney Sydney I mean.

I'm an ex Melbourne/Western Victoria/Wimmera District bloke though.

The thought has crossed my mind that I might remove the stock headlight, make up a plate and fit a pair of decent side by side smaller lights.

The Dakar style doesn't quite do it for me at this stage, but it may grow on me.

I would be curious to know the cost and shipping to get the Dakar version over here to Australia though.
