FYI all,
My kle is being built for that perfect dirt tourer. This means a light bike, manageable HP, reliable etc....hence kle. Sure a BMW 800 would be nice (my mate has one), but even he said after riding the kle that it (the BMW) is not worth the $13k AUS he paid for it given it weighs more and in the dirt I was as quick if not quicker (dont get me wrong that BMW is a nice bit of gear and its fuel economy is awesome but you still have power).
Anyway stop going off on a tangent.....
Completed to date are my custom headers, a carbon exhaust, decent footpegs, a Garmin Nuv500 custom mount, D606's front & rear and a Pelican case on the rear.
To Do:
USD forks - I have a kx125 USD front end waiting to go on, just need to press out kle stem and put into stock kx triples. May need to shorten them 2", but will still have like 275mm travel or so with full rebound/comp adjustment.
Rear shock height - With the USD I need to lift rear shock by using the next hole down on the rear mount bracket - almost looked like Kawa were thinking of adjustable ride height on this bike. Of course I will need to create a sleeve to make it strong enough.
3" excel rear rim - fits a 130/90 much better and stronger.
Brakes - with the new front end I have kx brakes - not bad. But I also have a 320mm disc and bracket......yummy. Maybe a bit big for dirt, but hey most riding is long fast dirt roads.
Future - well I dont 100% need more grunt, but gee it would be fun. I'm looking at getting a Versy/er6 engine to fit in.....but this maybe a while off. Cheaper than getting this engine to give me more grunt.
Anyway, as things progress I will update and post pics (if I figure out how to do that).
