I've used the DID X-ring chains since about 1998. I've put near 200,000 miles on them since then on various bikes.
On the 2600 member V-Strom board you can find dozens of riders who have done over 30,000 miles on the DID 525 VM-2 X-ring gold chain. This chain rocks.
Don't get an O ring, get the good one. New sprockets are a must. Should go to 25 to 30K miles if given even minimal care.

You have a point!!!!!!!
I was talking about o-ring chains as they are as stock on KLE's. X-ring is better but I never think change from o-ring to x-ring.
@luuk - I don't use off-road too much since my accident last summer because my bike isn't 100% fixed so with Regina it was more 90% roads - even if some roads are like off-roads - so I manage to lose some part of bike on that roads.
As I said on my first reply next time I will go for a DID. But DID or not DID for that distance is better to have a spare Kit with you for your comfort and also some other important parts for a safe riding.
Good luck!!!!
