KTM 690 Enduro 2010 - reliable bike for soft offroad travels?
Hi,
for 8 years and 90.000km I owned a KTM 950 Adventure and I absolutely loved it. Did some nice voyages in the Romanian and Moroccan Mountains with it. And the Alps too. Due to its age and its weight and some recent flaws in my right leg I decided to sell it. I'm now looking for a monocylinder that has less power and less weight. It should be a bit lower then my 950 too (I'm 1m75cm)
I'm able to buy a second hand 690 Enduro (no R!)(2010), that is already equipped with some hard alu paniers and it even has a Safari-fuel tank. It's a very complete package as you understand. Moreover, the owner has been 3 times to Iceland, so yes, he trusts his bike and it's ready to travel. It's also nice it's so complete!
But should I trust it? It has already 70.000km on it !
How reliable and repairable are these "digital" bikes? Does it have known flaws? It is as reliable as - let's say - the Yamaha XT660R (which I'm considering too, but I should have to buy all the goodies to make it fit to travel)? Because I don't want to have an electronic or mechanical issue in the middle of the Morocco Desert !
(At the moment I haven't ridden it, so I don't know if the bike is too high for me. )
Enlighten me please.
