Hi Acac,
I plan to do the same trip as you starting end of April in Dubai with a small detour to Oman. Maybe we can meet somewhere or at least share experiences (for example, the ferry to Iran, border crossing Iran/Turkey etc...)

Adam [ACEC] already knows this but for anyone else looking for company, I'm aiming to ride back at the end of June. (That's 2008 not 2009 - you know who you are! )

Still going anyone else keen?
Hi Robert,
I have to leave 1st April to get back to London for work on 1st May. There's loads of information on here regarding ferries and the like - just use the HUBB search facility. The biggest challenge I have found so far is organising all the poxy paperwork, my trip Is hanging on getting an Iranian visa in time. Riding should be comaparitively easy .
Are you flying from Belgium or are you in UAE already, maybe we could meet in a couple of weeks on the Friday Breakfast run to Hatta?

Took three days in Dubai to get a one month tourist visa for Iran. Very efficient they are.

You get up early on a Friday instead of sleeping in. Then you meet up with an indeterminate number of others bikers at a petrol station [possibly here: N25 11.535 E55 18.537]. You ride for about an hour to the Hatta Fort Hotel [N24 49.124 E56 08.056] and have a tasty buffet breakfast [currently 65 dirhams].
After that, most would take one of the nicest roads in the UAE to Kalba before heading home.

Yes, I hope so! I should be in your neck of the woods long before August.
Early-ish July, I'd estimate. Stephan

My wife and I are also planing to ride from Dubai to UK, leaving as soon as we can after the 24th of May. We ride a 1150GS, lived in Dubai for 3 years and are happy to leave for good.
We plan to spend only 1 week in Iran, 2-3 weeks in Turkey and the rest of the time till mid-July in Italy, France (Alps) and UK (Scotland), before we departure to North America.
We got our Iranian visas in 24 hours, but our Canadian friend failed to get his in a month! He was told that USA, Canadian and UK pasports needs permission from Tehran, and takes as long as it takes? So it depends which pasport you are using.
Happy biking.

Hi Johan, it sounds like there are at least three or four people driving to UK next year. How is your planning going? Raff
