Bike painting

Hi,

Does anyone know of a half decent paintshop in Dubai I can get the tank of my bike rapainted at. I'm sure there are loads of places in Sharjah, but I can face the prospect of riding around aimlessly looking for somewhere!

Cheers,

Peter

Robbo is having his donated Africa Twin painted black to match the old stolen one for the registration docs. If you contact him he should be able to give the name of the place that Gecko have recommended in Dubai.

If you want a reliable place in Sharjah, try Al Beea run by Joseph. The quality is excellent and the prices are fair.

I got my Sportster tank repainted by a guy called Stephen who has an office opposite the airport on the road out to Mirdiff. I can't remember his full name or the name of his company but if you nip into the Harley shop, they'll probably know. He does, or used to do, quite a bit of work for guys who wanted a custom tank job.

Cheers,

Indoors.

Thanks for those. Stephano - do you have Robbo's contact details?

Peter

Yes, he's at my flat. I'll ask him to e-mail you the details or his phone number. However, I understand that the paint job in Dubai was less than brilliant; whereas Paul's varnish job on his bike done by Joseph to protect all the signatures he has collected on the fairing was fantastic.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
