Red face Oman or Yemen - parts needed

Hi,

I'm in Yemen and my chain and sprockets are wearing a lot quicker than I thought. Can't even get a chain around here.

Anybody flying to Yemen or Oman in the next week or so and could bring the bits with him/her?

Thanks,
Peter.

I can't get the tyres - I've got too much to carry but if you give me a quick reply on the exact sprockets & chain I can go personally to B & C Express on Thursday.

You could even e-mail them in advance to sort out what you need for your bike. I should be able to meet up with you in Oman the weekend after next or whenever you cross back from Yemen.

Thumbs up

Thanks Stephan, I've just sorted it out. Found a DID chain here in Mukallah and just ordered the kit, should be there in a couple of weeks, i.e. well before me.

Dingo: no carnet needed for Oman, but you do need it for Yemen. See my latest border crossing entry for Oman/Yemen. Awesome ride through the mountains on brand new highways till Sayhut, even after that the roads are great. Sorry, off-topic rant...

Glad you found a chain, Peder.

I'm looking forward to riding up to Sohar in the coming weeks, Ivan. See you then.

Enjoy the weather both of you. It's 0 degrees in London right now.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
