Roro service to Israel?
Is anyone currently offering roro service to and from Israel/Greece, Italy, Turkey or Cyprus?
Charlie

Hi Charlie,
The situation remains unchanged for the time being, as has been posted here in several threads many times:
1.) Grimaldi serves Israel from Italy (Salerno and Monfalcone). Please see their website for further info (Euro-Med Service and Adriatica-Levant Service)
Home Page Grimaldi Freighter-Cruises
2.) Salamis offers a service from Lavrio in Greece via Cyprus to Israel (there is also a good bit of additional info on the HUBB, please do some research)
3.) There are ferry services from Turkey to Northern Cyprus and to Northern Lebanon (Tripoli), but not to Israel anymore.
Greetings
Achim

I did do research and Salamis lines is currently closed down. It lloks like Grimaldi is the only show and "vehicles over 3.40m tall must be shipped as cargo"
The situation as far as Israel vehicle shipping seems to change quickly with time.

Hi Charlie,
You might have come across the website of A. Rosenfeld Shipping which indeed states that the ferry has been suspended until further notice. This is not true, though, since several reports describe the ferry ride at least for the second half of 2013:
http://offroad-manufaktur.com/files/israel_2013.pdf
De Haifa à Lavrio 3 jours de ferry | Road trip de Nairobi à Genève en Pick-up
In addition, this website indicates the sailing dates of the ferry for February 2014 (the month I inquired as an example), leaving Lavrio on Saturdays and Haifa on Tuesdays.
Viamare Limited - Routesearch Site - Viamare Ltd
Since this is a truck ferry (please bear in mind that it has only about 20 cabins and standards are basic), the height of more than 3,40 m should not cause too much of a problem. I have actually seen Salamis trucks with CY number plates on European highways several times.
Good luck!
Achim
