Best city to fly to/from for bicycle tour?
I am considering a bicycle tour of Morocco in April and was wondering which was the best place to fly to for the city itself and access to other parts of the country and opinions about making a round trip returning to that city or one way to another?

Direct flights to Maroc cities other than Casa seem to be quite rare.Marrakech may be the obvious choice but cycling the beautiful hill region North of Agadir may be worth a thought.

I would choose Ouarzazate, now that there are inexpensive direct fights from the UK.
You're south of the Atlas and straight onto long quiet roads, though April will be a bit warm. In that case, head north into the hills, though it won't be that much cooler.
Fyi, it was 25 in Marrakech last week; in the south I now believe the season could be continuous from autumn to spring, bar the odd cold spell. Getting down from the northern ports may be another matter.
Bring me back a couple of pics for my book ;-)

Thanks for your replies, after some research I found a bikepacking, oh how I hate that word, route which passes near to Ouazazate and finishes near to Agadir which looks promising. I am aware that Ramadan does not end until the 10th April this year and want to avoid that so a later start than would be ideal, if I do this trip I will have 3-4 weeks so plenty of time.

I would not delay my travels due to Ramadan to put me further into the heat. I'll be there this Ramadan. All that happens is no one eats in the daytime but they dont mind if you do and many shops are open. Organise your own lunch and you'll be fine.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
