best of Morocco

Hi Guys

We will be on the road in a month in direction of South Africa so I am working on the road map and selection of cities and site but the country is so big that its a bit of a challenge as my wife never been there but I did quite few time . Looking for your opinion as for a first timer visit to the country. We will be there for a month or little more (not deadline ) riding two DR650 so regular road and dirt are OK ( we have luggage so no extreme stuff) .We will camp and do hotel too.

Thanks
PS: still looking for a mechanic or good private guy in France , Spain or Morocco

It's going to be way too hot for camping. Where we are at the moment in southern Spain it was too hot yesterday to eat our evening meal outside an hour after sunset, and at 6am it was still 24ºC. Make sure you get a hotel room on the ground floor on the least sunny side of the hotel.

Altitude or the coast are your friends when it all gets too hot. So Azrou in the Middle Atlas (1500m) is good. You might want to go over the top of the High Atlas via Imilchil which reaches 2800m.

Sidi Ifni on the coast way below Agadir is cool. Tafraoute in the Anti Atlas is beautiful.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
