Carlos the ticket man
In his office, a couple of weeks ago, it was pandemonium. After an AWFUL lot of sodding about, we eventually left empty-handed and went down to the (Algeciras) harbour office where all the other agents have their little kiosks. To cut a long story short, we bought tickets from one guy - a VERY nice and helpful Moroccan agent, for the same price that Carlos was quoting. A Ford Mondeo and a Discovery were 70 euros each, one way, on Acciona ("normal" ferry). Seems like it's a waste of time going to see Carlos these days????

true. I've had my 14-ton truck across for less than 100 euros twice now, both without carlos. Just any random stall by the side of the road...

We had problems with our tickets from Carlos back in October, on the return trip it became apparent that one of our tickets was for Algerciras/Ceuta whereas the other was for Algeciras/tanger med. We had to pay another 20 euros to get the right ticket

Not had any problems there buying tickets for our groups. The cake is nice and the cider is OK chilled on a hot day in the desert. Don't really need the glass mug, though...

Although I recommended Carlos in Feb 2008 it was on the basis that he was clued into the special deals that others wouldn't let you know about. I agree it's now too much hassle with no savings, so I buy at the port after first checking prices online.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
