few practical info
Hello to all
I am new on here and planning my first overland trip for April. We have been in Morrocco and W.S. many times flying and then driving around but this time we will drive with our own LR 110
Have couple of questions to which I have no reply yet - I am sure you can give me some hints.
we plan to take ferry from Sète or Barcelona to TangerMed - once out of the port I would like to get a Telecom Maroc sim card for my mobile and a Internet Dongle - heard there is a Marjane center just out of the town that have Telecom Maroc shop inside is that true ?? would be handy since I would do grocery there too.
Also I want to bring a 2 burner stove to be connected to a let´s say 3kg gas tank. Technically is not allowed to bring the gas on board of the ferry - so I was wondering where I can buy it once I got to Tanger med ? Marjane is selling these kind of stuff too ?? also.. would I need any specific adaptor or the European one (I live in the Netherlands) are all alike ???
I think that´s all for now ... sorry if I was a bit long
Nico

Hi Nico,
Be aware that Tanger Med port is about 50km from Tanger city. You'll have to drive into the city to find the Marjane. You'd be better leaving Tanger Med and htaking the motorway south to Tetouan. There's a Marjane just off the motorway north of the city.

I wouldn't worry about gas. All of the caravans and campervans on the ferry will be carrying gas. For us Brits there's no restriction on UK-Spain ferries and it's not a problem on the Spain-Morocco ferries. (You can get it at the Marjane, however).
IIRC there's a telecom shop inside the Marjane.
Happy trails,
Peter

You don´t need to go to a Marjane for buying a telephone SIM, there are plenty of shops and "teleboutique" where you can buy a SIM card or recharge it.
The price of a Maroc Telecom SIM card is 20 MAD

many thanks
i was thinking at Marjane just because we will have to do some grocery, and buy small other things - so would have be simplier to go in a place where everything is available at once ...
can for sure look at any other shop on the way thanks again

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
