You’re a bit late. First 10 days of October North of the Atlas experienced massive storms a flooding. Not much south of the Atlas.

Since then the weather has been perfect and a little hotter that usual for the time of year. 29 degrees along the coast north of Agadir today

Having thought my next Morocco trip would be only in 2023 I now have the possibility of 2 or 3 weeks free to go starting in 22 November.

Usually we'd be seeing heavy rains and not nice weather to ride around by now, but I was just surprised by looking at a weather site and seeing little sunshines all around

I would not like to bypass the Atlas and mountain passes, would it be asking for trouble or an unpleasant time to be riding a bike there in December?

My idea of a good time on a bike doesn't include rain everyday

It will be the shortest days with chilly mornings at elevation but I think once you get over the mountains you will be fine.
It's just the stretch from the Med ports to Marrakech; doable in one long day on the autoroute.
And if you are from Pt, not far to go back home if the weather turns.

I once spent a month riding in Morocco during December and January, and it was mostly fine--some rain and minor flooding, some snow, bits of cold, lots of fine weather. I did pay close attention to the weather--not 10 days in advance, but for the following one or two days--and decided where to go and what routes to take accordingly. Just once I spent an extra day waiting for the roads to be plowed. Flexibility was very much key.

Hope that's helpful.

Thanks, I'll give the forecasts a look by the end of next week and go on from there.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
