very very unlikely.

Plenty on Amazon
If you are there awhile, I'd suggest buying it on internet & request it be delivered by DHL.

Stretch some fine lady's tights/stockings over the top of a normal funnel, petrol/gas goes straight through but water won't.

You don't need anything fancy.

Wouldn't ethanol or other crap disintegrate the stocking?

I'm not sure I would as concerned in Morocco as I would be further south.

Morocco, is more first world than many of us might realize unless of course you have traveled further south.

I would regularly plug my Mr. Funnel in Sierra Leone but once we got to Senegal it never clogged up. We stopped using it in Morocco if I remember correctly.

I too wouldn't worry too much.
In my experience fuel in Africa generally hasn't been an issue at all, let alone in Morocco.
Just completed 63000km in west and southern Africa in a landcruiser with stock standard filtration.
It always ran fine and we only replaced the OEM fuel filter 3 times in the year (it didn't ever feel like it needed it, just seemed the right thing to do)
Just filled up at the best looking garage in town and all was well.

I did an autopsy on the one i changed in Cameroon (ie. after fuel from Mauritania, Guinea, Mail, Nigeria etc) it was slightly discoloured, but nothing that looked alarming in any way. Looked as if it still had a fair bit of life in it to be honest.

Happy travels
Sam

My worries are not the petrolquality in Morocco, but the countries further down. Too many motorcyclists having problems with water and sand in their engines.
Stockings are worth trying.

We used MrFunnel starting from the southern Part of Marocco downwards till Namibia:

Often we had a "small" rest of stuff who dont flow through at the end (probably water). In Europe the MrFunnel is empty at the end of refilling - we had testet that.

We had just once visible parts in the filter, after using a refillment outside of a normal fuel station.

In Angola we had to replace the Diesel filtre of the car - but we see the "replacement" notify, we hadnt a break down because of it.

We had used a modern car with modern diesel injectors, therefore we had care a bit more about the fuel quality.

If it was really necessary? We dont know - probably the normal filter was able to handle it too?! But i would do it again this way, better than get the crap into the tank.

You can see the quality: good fuel flows fast through the filter, not so good fuel need much time and you had an rest of fuel who dont wants to go out of the filter in a reasonable time...

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
