South Africans and Morocco Visa

Hi all!

Calling all South Africans ( or anybody with the right info!)

Do you know if us South Africans need Visas to get into Morocco? If so, is it possible to get one on entry OR when and how long before do we need to apply for one.

Thanks!!
Stef and Renee

Yes, Saffas do need a visa for Morocco. I'm not sure whether or not you can get them at the border. A friend is arranging his in SA, but I see you're in England. If Morocco is early in your trip, maybe it'll be best to get the visa in the UK, then you're sorted.
Hope this helps

I was told, non UK persons, and others, need apply in their home country.

Not available at the border. - officially -
But I don't know about getting a visa for a short stay of about 10 days, if that could be possible without going back to home country ?

Hi! Officially it is BEST and preferred that apply in your home country but because you're in England you could go to the SA Consulate for assistance. In Gabon I did that for assistance in getting a DRC visa and I had the visa within 24 hours because someone made a call. The consulates are there to help their citizens and I found the one in Libreville very helpful indeed. Worth a try?

Good luck!

I use this site as an indication, I presume it is up-to-date......most the SADC countries appear to allow us in.

Moroccan Visas

The rule is that South Africans have to apply in their country of residence. The embassy here in SA made our visas valid for one year, so they are very accomodating. At least here in SA they were.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
