tizi n ait ahmed pass? [MH19]
Anybody crossed the Atlas here?

The tizi n ait ahmed pass is just North West of Boumalne Dades. It's on the Michelin map and I can see it on Google maps but I can find no routes, fotos or accounts of anyone doing it on a motorbike.

It's a mule route crossing into Ait Bougmez valley. You can get as far as Amejgag on a bike.

We did it a year ago, report here: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...ez-happy-91120. It's piste from Alemdoun to Tabant, including a new good quality section where there was once a mule track. We couldn't cross because of deep snow so check at either end but be prepared that locals in Alemdoun haven't a slightest idea about the actual condition as it was in our case. We actually drove right up to the pass and turned back there. If you're coming from Tabant you'll know straight away because the snowy part (north slope) is visible from the village. If open the piste is easy, and others including Chris Scott reported it was a breeze.

MH19 From the Rose Valley to Tabant - Tizi n’Aït Imi
May 2019
Super beautiful route with 2 Col about 3000m el.

Paved Kalaat to Allemdoun.

'Gorge route' as per Chris and Wikiloc very difficult, rocky. It is impossible to pass now as route blocked by the new gravel pit for impending construction. The piste ends at a rockpile and a 4 m deep ditch. Had to turn around.

'Regular route' through Amejgag diverted, due to construction and road enlargement, around the mountain and follows the river through the narrow village 'streets' and river gorges. Its rough but the Mercades 'Transport Mixes' pass.

Between the 2- 3000 passes is chipsealed, and will be fully paved soon.

Most amazing scenery.

We fueled the bikes in Ait Bouguemez from a local guy with juice bottles. It cost 1 MAD more than the service station. Nice!

If you're talking about the R704 between Agoudal and Boulmane Dadès, I did it in february with a 701 and a friend on a drz400. Its is a around 90kms of gravel trail, but the locals seems to manage to get there with Renault Express and the like, so you should be ok on a bike with knobbies. You can find gas fromdrums in Agoudal, but nothing between agoudal and the start of Dadès gorge : I litteraly mean nothing : No house, nobody there.
It was one of the most beautiful road I found in Morocco ! Quite tiring for my friend who had a broken rib from a previous fall, but the view and feel up here is amazing !
There was no snow in feb. 2019 when I rode here but I guess I was lucky that it didn't fell much this year, I guess it can get pretty extreme if you add a 50cm layer of snow on top of that...

Any recent advice for the route from Kelaat M'Gouna - Amejgag - Tizi-n-ait - Tabant ?
It's mule route, piste, paved? it's open or under construction?

It's a piste that's partly paved on the north side and easy enough, baring deep snow.

Last drove it in November 2018, construction at the south end meant a diversion through the gorges which is a much nicer way to get south. They could be a challenge if the waters high.

I've not seen any recent updates anywhere on the construction progress or any problems so you should be ok
