Tyre shop South Spain
I know it is on the wrong continent for this thread, but it is related, honest!
By good fortune, I recon I will have worn out my current Anakee 2's by the time i reach the South of Spain in six months time.
This gives me the prefect oppertunity to change over to some more off road bias tyres, TKC80s or Scout K60's ready for Marocco whilst getting them a bit cheaper in Spain and not having to carry/fit them myself.
I will be coming down from Santander, Salamanca, Seville and could do with finding a motorcycle tyre fitting shop I can contact before hand to get my sizes in ready to fit.
Anywhere like Jerez, Cadiz or Algerciras would be ideal. Does anyone have any experience?
Cheers Dave

that is very useful thanks, the Cadiz site would be really useful to myself as I would be passing by at a useful time of day.
I can't really see that the do tyres off their web site, is this something that you have had experience of?
I'm not really looking for the cheapest price possible, more like a reliable service to ensure everything goes smoothly.
Just wondering what your experiences were.
cheers
Dave

Sorry for the delay - my life's too busy!
When I was looking into sorting this out for me, I emailed the dealership (and used google translate for Spanish!) and asked them to get hold of the tyres for me. They were both happy to do this, and to store my 'road' tyres for two weeks whilst I had a jolly in Morocco! Very civilised of them. I was planning to use TKC80's for Africa.
In the end, I rode a Mitas E07 rear and a E10 front all the way there and back, and didn't use them at all. Just as an aside, whilst the E07 rear was fine for the 5000+ miles, the E10 was awful for the longer, faster European stages.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
