UK Foerign Office Updated Advice for Morocco
I know most of us takes these with a degree of common sense but the UK FO has issued updated advice of travel to Morocco in relation to terrorism.

Bit about porous borders and kidnappings seems a bit extreme though

It's not unexpected, especially following the murder of the two Scandinavian girls last year. They will always err on the cautious side, and would be open to criticism if they didn't. That doesn't mean it's suddenly a dangerous place to visit, but with the defeat of Daesh in Syria there are going to be a lot of people going back to where they came from. Be alert, be aware, be guided by advice and common sense. As ever.

I spent the month of February this year in Morocco, and in my opinion, the place is safer than rural Switzerland.
The police have a very strong presence in the country, and the citizens are well educated.

One of the negative aspects of such advice is that it may effect your personal insurance cover if you carry it. Check with your insurer if you need peace of mind.

Yes. Our True Traveller insurance is very clear and directly linked to the home office maps. We have NO cover in RED areas. In ORANGE regions we are covered for all things except the home office identified risk (e.g terrorism or Ebola)

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
