HU meet Malaga?

Hi folks!
I saw on a post a short while ago and can't find it again, there's a HU meet in Malaga on the 12/14th Sept or somewhere near Malaga?
Does anyone have or know where I can find more details as I'm interested in going en route to Africa.
Anyone else going (from UK) want to buddy up?

Thanks in advance

Geoff

Hi Geoff - sorry can't help with the registration - but I'm planning on going to this years meet on my XT600e, it would be great to hook up with you somewhere on the way there, which route are you taking ? P'raps if we can get a few XT riders together we can have an XT convoy!

Hey yeah!

hey Mike,
Yeah mate it would be cool to meet up and go down to Spain with another XT rider.
I'm thinking of a couple of plans for the route so hear me out and let me know what you think.........
a) The Portsmouth ferry to Santander on the 7th. Not cheap at 224 quid. Docks on the 8th at lunchtime and gives enough time to potter down to Malaga , a trip of 1,000kms, Arriving a day or so early to 'soak' up some of Malaga. The next closest ferry is on the 10th, docking the 11th which leaves only 24 hours for the trip down!
b) Hit the Dover/Calais, cheaper at 24 quid and head straight south, saving the 200 quid for fuel, food, a pint or two etc but does take a lot longer to get down to Malaga! Obviously!

We both know that the XT is a good bike but hammering it down at 70+ the whole way isn't the best option for the back and the bike but I'm not gonna sit at 50 and be a snail, if you know what I mean?

What you doing for accomodation? I'm up for camping as I'd like to try out the new tent etc as I'm heading for a RTW straight after the meet.

I'd like to be in Malaga a day early as I've been asked to do a medical presentation for the guys in 'biker first aid' and would use the day to get some bits and bobs from the local pharmacies to help and show as part of the presentation.
I know it's a bit vague but I'm an easy guy, as you can probably see. I've not booked any tickets yet as i'm still in Iraq at the mo and was going to decide closer to the date. Where are you setting off from and your plan for the trip?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
