Garmin Worldmap file sizes for Central and South America

I am looking into buying Garmins GPS V for a trip to Central and South America. Does anyone know the file sizes of Garmins Worldmap maps that cover CA and SA? Will the GPS V have enough memory to hold all the maps for this trip? Any other alternative maps that can be used for this?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Worldmap

looks like 3 questions:
Answer 1 World Map South America Total 87 maps total 12 MB
Answer 2
GPS V (de luxe) info
WAAS Accuracy

Switchable screen orientation
Rugged and waterproof
  • Automatic route calculation
  • 19 MB internal memory for storing data from included DVD, plus topo maps, fishing information and more from optional CDs and DVDs
  • Americas Routable basemap with cities, highways, interstates, exit services, lakes, coastlines and more
  • Full coverage mapping detail throughout the contiguous U.S., including rural areas*
  • Trip computer with resetable odometer, timers, average and maximum speeds
  • Built-in celestial tables for best times to fish and hunt

  • Up to 25 hours use on 4 "AA" batteries
  • Limited one-year warranty
shows 19MB so should be OK
Check if V deluxe is same as the 'V' (the deluxe pacjkage often includes other bits)
Answer 3 Alternatives- Take paper map and compass- you'll be glad you did.
Exoensive alternative, notebook + Touratech TTQV + digital mapping
OR the new on-boat 'tablet pc' like computer handlebar mounted on your bike at €3000 + maps - very nice but even more expensive and very 'desireable' not just by yourself!
There could always other alternatives!
