Renaming OSM Map on Zumo 590

I've recently loaded some new OSM maps onto my Garmin Zumo 590's SD card. They work fine, but I was wondering if I could rename them as when they appear on the list of installed maps there's a load of extra info cluttering things up. I renamed the files on my PC before loading them, but the data must be buried deeper in the file.

On the PC:

On the Garmin:

OK, thanks, I'll take a look. Can the editing be done to the files on the Garmin, or in Windows before uploading?

The software is for a windows PC not for garmin unit.
You need to do whatever alterations you wish under windows.
Then copy the map to the garmin folder either on micro sd or internal mem. of unit.

Yeah, I took the SD card out of the unit añd plugged it into the PC. I managed to change the name of the map, still a bit of unnecessary info present but definitely more what I wanted. Thanks for your help.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
