NBD - La Baie du Levrier, the owner Ali is incredibly helpful, very clean & well priced compared to the other lo-cost ones in town - cut prices even further ask to sleep in the tent rather than in one of the rooms
NKT - Auberge des Nomades, cheap, clean & friendly, relatively quiet too compared to Menata which to me seemed a bit like an overlanders 'Butlins'

Nkt
Currently staying at NKT - Auberge des Nomades. Have been for a couple of nights and you can camp there for 1,000 Oogs or 2,000 each per chambre for two people.
On the main road, turn left and 50yrds down on your right is the LePrince fastfood place which does great burgers (hey, each to their own) for 700 Oogs and offers some protections from the street vendors although we've already bought 3 pairs of footiesocks ( see other post for details ) and a set of chinese hairtrimmers.
Have fun fellow travellers

Nouakchoff - We stayed in Auberg Sahara, as you come into town, go across the first round-about (traffic circle), and it is on your left. 1500 or so per night, secure parking - other travellers, clean and HOT and cold water in showers. Can cook your own food if yu want to, but pizza place across the road is great. Look at Google Earth for GPS co-ords.
If you have £100 to blow, try the Novotel - was full of AID people from Oxfam etc when we tried to get in there - so that's where all your charity donations go then - hypocrits...

In Kiffa try the Le Phare Du Desert. It's right before you would cross the Kiffa checkpoint on the edge of town. If you're coming from NKT it's on the right side of the road.
Good food, nice campground, friendly service.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
