Broken Bike-BMW R80G/S - Parts to Tangier, Morocco

Hi all,
I have an 1980 (1981) R80G/S, currently in Tangiers with a bent exhaust valve and dropped valve seat.
I need to get a replacement RHS head (with valves etc), and possibly a piston, but am having trouble figuring out how to get the parts to me.

Apparently getting bits sent into Morocco can take ages (months) and the duty can be up to 4 times the cost of the item, new or second hand. There is an issue with a postal address to...

Once I have the bits I can sort it myself.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Steve

One of the service guys speaks reasonable English but will probably only know the part names in French. The following is from a useful download I printed off the BMW website somewhere.

cylinder: cylindre
cylinder head: maybe tete de cylindre??
exhaust valve: soupape d'echappement
inlet vave: soupape d'admission
piston: piston
gasket: joint

I would look up with the dealer Tim C referred you to and look up the part #s here for the BMW GS...then give him the numbers and see if he can order the parts

MAX BMW Motorcycles - Parts Fiche. 866-MAX-BMW1

If he has INternet access in his office, then have him loot at the parts online with you to determine the parts. The prices listed are in USD, and a simple conversion should give you the estimated EURO value...

Pictures and numbers are much easier when language difficulties surface...

Thumbs up Thanks to all

Thanks everyone for the advice,
Special thanks to Thierry (kktos) for bringing the spares over for me.

Hope to see you all on the road somewhere - Look for an 80G/S with a big white tank and an HPN faring.

Cheers,
Steve.
