Just spoke with the owner of camp Sahara near Atar
Just received a mail from the owner (Just) of the campsite near Atar. It is open all year around and the situation is not risky according to him. He said Mauritania was worth visiting. Right now he is back in EU of personal reasons, but will be back on the campsite 25OVT2009.
I'm also waiting on a reply from a Couch Surfing ( CouchSurfing - Participate in Creating a Better World, One Couch At A Time) guy living in Mauritania. I will hook up with him and see some of the country. Nothing better than being together with a local. In this way you get the real thing of the country you are visiting, and not just staying at a dull hotel.
I will head for the camp during a couple of weeks. So if anyone is going down there? lets drink a !
Right now I will find a cab here in Rabat and head for the Mauritanian embassy, hopefully to pick up my first invitation Visa.
Will head from Rabat tomorrow. See you out there.
