The Fuel switchover valve from Europa spares has been on for a wjhile now and performed well.
The advantage of it is that the you may be limited to where you can place manual valves (specially in the tight cab of a LR 101 - yes space is tight even in such a 'big' vehicle)
You must also filter the fuel before the valve (i guess this is actuially true of any valve arrangement really). I used mercedes sprinter in line fuel filters at about £1.50 each for this job.
It is nice to be able to switch tanks at the press of a switch and I believe if you are going to the trouble of fitting extra tanks it is worth the extra effort of making them independant so you can run on either in case of a tank failure or even filling one up with a very bad batch of diesel does not polute the other tank.
