Hi, I seem to recall a previous thread about somebody who sold cheap tickets for the ferry to Morocco (was it near Lidl??) in Algeciris. Does anyone know if he still operates and if so, exactly where to go?

Yeap, Hes still there leave the coast road at saldia 112 you have lidl on the left & carrefour on the right his office is behind carrefour. Turn right at roundabout, hes on the left after the car park.

We are off tomorrow for mauri and mali - will now hopefully grt ferry cheaper!

Anyone got any info on the latest prices for the Algeceiris / Cueta Ferry?

Also

Has anyone used the guy selling tickets near the Lidl (behind the Carrefour) recently?

What are the prices? and if you did buy from him, how did you get on?

I ask because I think a previous thread suggested that he was selling tickets that were ‘day returns’ (hence the cheap fares)??

Any truth in that?

In Oktober Carlos was still in business. He is selling all tickets you want, also "Open tickets", and very cheap indeed. For our 10 ton truck, 8m long, and two people we paid 240 Euro's for Algeciras-Ceuta-Algeciras.
The storm was included, also the ferry schedule and the small immigration forms for the border.
He does not accept credit cards, but the "cash machine" is just 50 m away.

I've just got back from Morocco and having read previous threads thought we'd try to get our tickets from Carlos.

Finding the shop was no problem, near Lidl at exit 122. Their website gives a map together with GPS coordinates. Proximamente . Just in case the web page changes at any time in the future, the coordinates for the shop are N36º 10' 45 , W5º 26' 28

We arrived on Sunday afternoon and a notice on the door said "open at 4pm". We returned at about 3.30 and were soon joined by a french 4x4 party of four vehicles and about five or six RVs who were also waiting for Carlos. He arrived a few minutes late but was quickly serving customers and writing tickets once he opened up.

The tickets were open returns for our Landcruiser and two people and were for the FRS catamaran. According to Carlos the tickets were 'promotional' and it didn't matter whether had a small car or large RV.

Prices were 190 euros return for Tangier and 230 euros for Cueta. I don't know how this stacks up against other agents generally, although we were quoted 270 euros for Cueta tickets by one agent located on the motorway.

Upon arrival at the ferry terminal the tickets were processed without question and we didn't even have to show them for the return jouney!

Whilst visiting Gibralter, a mechanic also recommended that we get our tickets from 'the shop near Lidl'. It would seem therefore that Carlos has a local reputation, as well as with 4x4 groups and the RV community

Is it better to take the ferry in Tarifa or in Algeciras. Our first stop in Morocco would be Marrakesh. What are the prices for the ferry for a regular car and two persons?

I read the postings above but could not find any answer to how much an one way ticket from Algeciras to Ceuta will cost? Is that the cheapest way to enter Morocco?
