Libya Agency 'SARI' - DO NOT USE EVER
The Libya Desert Challenge rallye ( LDC - Libya Desert Challenge - Marathon Cross Country Rallye - 5001 km Sahara in Libyen) was cancelled this year becasue SARI did a runner with the money
email from the oragnisers quoteed below
1. What happened exactly?
I can safely announce the reason of the debacle and I have following
informations/proofs:
A.) Sari has at no time-point requested a visa for the people participating/organizing the LDC
B.) Sari has no license to act as tour-operator, although that Sari exists since many years.
C.) Sari has been paid and did no return therefor.
D.) Suleiman Abboud, known as the boss, submerged since then.
E.) I started a lawsuit in front of the libyan court for the reason of fraudulent behavior and demand of pay back the total damage.

here is more information from Tom Holznecht who lost all the money
------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Karim ,
I keep an eye on him and he is registered in the adress and contact sharing system plaxo:
Suleiman Abboud's Public Profile
There are 2 things I keep on running:
1. the lawsuit against the insurance in Germany, it is a matter hom much money I can can reserve for this, I need about 5000 Euro there.
2. Against Suleiman, when I have more time, I can with a lot of time, make Lobby work at the Board of Tourism and force him to make a payback plan.
A very thin hope I have that I find someone at the government feeling responsible for the fault of this man. Also the german company Saro seems to be involved, but I have no evidences, this is just my "feeling".
I do not want to way the 7 years and the thing is over, I try to earn the money earlier. Depends on how many sidecosts the clients finally wants back, the fees were about 138k, the total of claims about 158k. It is definitely not easy, but not impossible.
Thanks for "scanning".
Tom

Some remarks/questions:
I spotted Mr Holzknecht three weeks ago in Tekertiba, on the Africa Tours camping, where he was together with some guys of Fessano. On the Fessano website I read they deal with Holzknecht. So why is Holzknecht dealing with Sari now? And is Fessano also involved in the scam?

check dates!
Maybe some of you missed it, but the original thread was started in 2007.
So the claims go back to that date.
After May 2007 the LDC was organised by a 'new' organisation.
cheers.
