As I understand it they have now formalised the process and you cross over at the same point into the western sahara. Can do legitimately now.

Hi there D Halliday
When are you going? I intend going down to Mauri leaving London around 21 July. Someone else may join me. Might see you on the road...In the meantime check out my enquiries about this route over the last few weeks on sub-saharan Africa. That will help you.
Denis

Procedure?
Drive up, customs out of Mauritania, continue through minefield, customs into Morocco.
Just make sure you pass by the Mauritanian 'out' - wasn't obvious last year.
I'm sure that if you post here, somebody has the lat/long for it...
Sam.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
