Transit visa for Libya
Hi all,
I've read this post form aurel:
http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...-transit-35501
in which he described how he got a transit visa from the Libyan consulate in France.
Has anybody succeeded in getting a transit visa in the UK?
The Libyan consulate in London told me I can get it at the border, or in Tunisia, from any Libyan travel agent or anywhere, but not from them.
Arkno Tours are adamant there's no such thing as a Libyan transit visa and are trying to sell me their guide services.
Does anybody in the UK have first hand experience with this?

Transit Visa
Roman,
When do you need to know by ?
We are going to Libya in October and I can get back the info to you by mid November when we get back.... not much use if you're planning on going next week though.

Roman,
I tend to think the other forum you've posted on wont give you as accurate or up to date information as on here. I doubt there are many there that fit the profile of the type of person who could answer you. There are one or two but it all depends if they're still around.
As a long shot I hope it works.
BTW, the link through to your web site doesn't work for me.

Hi Martin,
As soon as possible. I am going there in November and knowing how the wheels grind in Libya I need to sort out the visa business very quickly.[/quote]

Hello Mark,
Yes, it was me on thorn tree. Isn't it amazing that once you get out of the box the world becomes a much, much smaller place :-) ?
The link seems to be working OK, It's in Route Planning subject Libya - Transit dated 10th July 2008 (post No 35501 by waverider)

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
