Alaska to Ushuaia.start July '18
hello everyone, after Thailand to Italy (via China-Mongolia-Russia) last year, I am starting the ride AK to Chile in the second half of July.Arrive the 14th and (hopefully) quickly purchase a motorcycle.Wondering if anyone is around doing the same ,or in Anchorage?could catch up, ,especially for the Great Divide Trail, through USA .it would be great to share the experience and share GPS tracks.I have some but I see there is options
I speak fluent Italian ,English, Spanish and 50% Thai! so easy to communicate and easy going in style .
Cheers ,hope to see u on the road

Hey Forest, Welcome!
Where are you planning to buy a bike? Budget? Buying NEW / Used or ....??
KLR's/DR650's kinda Slim pickings in AK, but doable if you're patient. Have you contacted any dealers ahead of time to set something up?
Used KLR's and DR650's will be MUCH more plentiful in California (L.A. or San Francisco) and also a LOT cheaper.
May have a line on a friend's '06 DR650 in the low $2000 range. Totally set up with racks, panniers, guards, big tank, nice seat, extra tires/tubes ...and more. PM me if interested. I'm in San Fran Bay area.
Good luck, hope you get good weather!

Sergio,
You only need provide an address so CA DMV can send you your title on your bike.
You can use my address if you like ... and I'm sure any number of Hubbers would offer a California address for you to use.
Not a big deal.
