Might be my chrome browser or settings, but pale blue text at 50% transparency with pale blue image behind it might look pretty but it is a bugger to read.

Tony is right. It's very hard to read your website with the current transparency, font colour and font size. It would be a shame to put in the effort to share your stories just to have people ignore them because it's too difficult to read...

Tony, agree, very difficult to read, and it's not your browser - I checked on Firefox and IE. Having text of any colour flow over a photograph is doomed to failure, as the photograph changes colours!
Getting web design right is very tough, we agonize for days over minor things like the shade of the links blue! You'll notice that HU is pretty simple and very easy to read on anything.
For everyone, this is one reason we made it EASY for travellers to have their own blog right here on HU - and it looks good too!
Go to the Horizons Unlimited Travellers Stories here, and get yours for free!

Thanks for the feedback, really appreciated. We are still working on the site. I have changed the background and it looks better.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
