USA/Canada breakdown recover services
I want to have recovery during the 6-8 week part of our trip in the US. Nut I keep hitting the block of needing a US address to arrange the cover.
As far as I can tell the AllState RV Help is still the best, as it has unlimited recovery distance and I can sit on either bike and claim I was riding it :-)
Anyone want to offer an address ?
(We will be starting in Toronto, heading East(ish) and then enter the US before heading towards Boston, then south ....

AAA towing
1-800-391-4222 is a toll free (in the USA) for triple A towing which has a RV upgrade which covers bikes. We have this service for our older cars out here in wide open montana and have used it several times with good results. It is good to not have a limit on the distance towed...with one BMW shop in this area of montana and the state being more than 1000KM across.

Ok, am I going mad ?
When I go to AAA Home, I can't actually see a way of signing up ?
Or would this be easier to do when we actually land and un-crate the bikes ?

Hey Bruce,
the above link works fine and gets me to the "join AAA section" to be completed for registration.
I'll PM you an address you can use for registration with AAA.

But as we don't have BMWs, not an issue.... I am sure there are a lot of Aprilia dealers in the US :-)

Ta, things work better with a zip code :-)
I'm mulling over Allstate or AAA now ......I think I have got to the stage where simple decisions are the hardest to make :-)

Ok, 1 question, is $150 towing cover actually any good ?
How far does it get you ?
AllState, who are being utter utter a*****s over not using a US address are unlimited tow for $77. I've an address I can use to sort that now if needed.

aaa is the way go. Worst thing to happen is having to wait for a truck that can handle a bike if your out of the way. There is no way I want to be tow by any old school truck

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
