White Rim Trail - Moab

Anyone recently done the WRT?

Curious as to the conditions and the bike you rode.

Planning to ride it in May.

Conditions are good right now. I have done this ride a bunch of time on a KTM 525 and on my KTM 950 SE. Any bike will do. I have friends who have done it on GS 1100s and smaller. There is a section on sand on the west side along the green river. We have been getting some rain so it should not be to deep.

Bike must be street legal with blinkers and lights. Rangers can be a pain in the ass. Speed limit is 15mph the whole way but you can go faster. Just beware of rangers ready to hassle you at the drop of a hat.

Have fun.

Finally got to do WRT a couple of weeks ago. After some rain not so sandy.

In case anyone is in any doubt, the full 155-mile loop will most likely be one of the best day's dirt riding you ever did.
Don't miss it if you're in the area.
You can hire a dual sport in Moab.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
