bike import duration for Uzbek, Tadjik, Pakistan or Iran

Hi!
I researched through the forum but didn't find any information on how long can you leave a bike in one of these 4 countries.

It is now well know that inside the custom union (Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrg, Belarus) you can get 1 year.

After kyrgystan I need to find a country where I could leave my bike for 1 year. What options do I have?

My idea is either to continue and leave it in Iran, or in one of the countries around.

Has anybody some tips?

Thanks in advance!

I am pretty sure that in Uzbekistan it does not work.

Last year we almost missed our visa expiring date to leave.
So I called my embassy and they told me, that if the bike or I stay longer than the visa is valid, they will seize the bike and thats it.

You can buy it back afterwards for the amount what it is still worth.

Iran could work if you have a carnet for 1 year.

Hi Zimi,

Uzbekistan TIP for 3 months

Iran seems to be 6 month.

I read that on a website where the author talked to the boss of the Iranian automobile club. Also, Iranian friends told us that. Their relatives need to pay custom after 6 month. With the carnet valid for 12 month we will give it a try for longer. Alternatively, it seems that Iranians park their car before the end of their 6 months import in one of the free trade zones to avoid custom. This is plan B we check for at the moment.

Regards
Bernd

Thanks Bernt!
definitely useful. I will postpone to next year the leg of my trip to Iran and just go out and in again of custom union, to get another 1 year temporary import in Kyrgyzstan this year.
