Cis = ?
Hello,
I'm filling out visa application form (transit) for Turkmenistan and I have to put border entry/exit points, as there is a few border crossings with Iran I would like to exit at Sarahs, but on map there is a "outside of the CIS" sign there.
I don't know what that means, is it international crossing or what...?
Thanks
Nikola Brčić

Let me know how you do it. I am following you. I will be in STANs on June 5th around to Kazakhstan crossing from Russia.
I am curious about Uzbekistan Visa and Turkmenistan visa as I don't have those two. I have Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and AZ.
I am not looking forward to get the visa process at border.
Please let me know.
Thanks
arun

arunp
I'm glad to say that my visa quest is almost over.
Coutry type of visa cost
Ukraine transit 30 euro
Russia 30 day 100 euro (30 visa + 70 vaucher)
Kazakhstan 30 day 30 euro
Kyrgistan don't need one
Uzbakistan 30 day 30 euro
Turkmenistan transit 30 euro
Iran double entry 2x20days 22 euro
People in Iranian embassy here in Zagreb are so great they. Gave me a ton of good informaton not to mention that they constantly give lessons of farsi for free. And 22 euro for double entry visa which is valid from 06.2008 till 09.2008, just great.
UZ I'm going in Wiena this Wend. to pick that one.
TM nice people in Wiena they e-mailed me visa application form and agreed to issue me visa on the same day (wend.). First I have to get UZ
Russian, grrrr 100 euro for 600 km from Ukraine to Kazakhstan.
Ukraine don't know. Should do it this week
Kazakhstan had no problems with them
Arunp, try to fill your passport with all visas you need before departure.
You'll save yourself a lot of nerves, time and money.

Turkmenistan withdrew in 2005 and stopped paying its fees, and Georgia has recently pulled out of parts of it ... most notably defence co-operation. The major countries in it Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan have all at various times in the past 3 years publically questioned its usefulness going forward

I'm starting on 12.07. from Zagreb , Croatia.
And I'll probably need some 5-6 days to arrive in Kazakhstan (Astrakhan).
Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan for sure, Kyrgistan and Tajikistan are optional but very probable.
I think that I will be in Iran by mid August.
Hope to see you there!

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
