Far East Russia/ Siberian bike parties/ rallys/ events?
Does anyone know the dates/locations of any bike parties/ events/ rallys in Siberia this summer (2013)? I was looking specifically for the Facing The Ocean rally, but, so far, Mr Google was of no use.
Many thanks
Chris

Many thanks for that Walter.
As I didn't look at the link I wasn't meant to look at, I didn't see the woman with the car. Had I seen her, I would have noticed that this car picture was in the wrong place as it's a bike site.
The timing of the Baikal event couldn't be worse. If the plan goes to plan I'll be near Magadan at the end of July. Bollox. Then again, my bike may have expired and I could be stuck in Irkutsk at about that time.
I will contact my mate in Vladivostok about the Facing the Ocean event. I have a sneaking suspicion he told me it wasn't happening this year.

I tried not to look, but couldnt help but notice one of the pics of a Mia from Pavlodar in Kazakhstan depicted her in a cage. It was an image that has me particularly concerned to ensure that her human rights are not being violated.

Also worth noting, Moto.ru has a list of most bike clubs in Russia, listed by the number of the Federal Region they are in ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal...deral_subjects)
Here's the list of 349 clubs. Useful for people who break down somewhere and want to know where to turn:

This is russian help list for people on the road.
People on the list are there voluntary, bikers and motorcyclist who can/will help you on the road if you have problems.
http://www.sinus.vl.ru/mtravel/html/helplist.htm
Last summer i was staying on my friend place in Nizny Novgorod and he got an SMS of biker having trouble with bike battery. He told me they have kind of SMS/Mobile number ring. People who need help can send SMS there and pretty much all people who are available in that "ring" try to organise help. There were allready few people helping and we just had to give some starting power with cables from my friend car.
Ofcourse thing with this list is that i dont know how many of those in list speak english.

Walter and Sami
Many thanks for these 2 links. Walter's page opens fine and I can copy/paste the details into a translation program to get the jist. Sami, your page is garbled with weird characters like
Íîâîñèáèðñê
Ñèäîðîâ Ê. (ÑÊÂ), 349473107 àñüêà, òåë. 8-923-241-24-20, âñå âõîäÿùèå áåñïëàòíî
I've tried Firefox and IE and the moto.ru link works fine but http://www.sinus.vl.ru/mtravel/html/helplist.htm doesn't.
Can you open it in your browser correctly? If so, could you copy and paste the page into a Word document and attach it here or email to me (address in my website in signature). I can then translate it in a translation program.
Many thanks!

Hi Sami
Indeed, we met at Song Kul last year. I even have a Boano fairing, like yours, on my AfTwin now too! It was my winter project.
Just checked my settings and they are already as you describe. Also specifically dialed in cyrillic, but no luck. Still can't read the page. The IT network manager at work wasn't able to assist either.
If possible, please copy/paste the page into a Microsoft Word doc and a pdf and email both to chrisNOSPAMbrightATTTTTTgmailDOTTTTTTcom , removing/substituting the upper case characters as appropriate.
Many thanks for that.
Best wishes
Chris

Hi Sami
Loads fine in MS Word in Cyrillic text and translates into English in Google Translate without any problems.
Many thanks for that! I appreciate it.
Best Wishes
Chris
