financal planning for a trip througout Asia and Russia
Hello! We are just beginnig to plan a travel starting in Germany, destination lake Baikal, via Turkey, the caspian sea, Mongolia. All the way back, we want to cross Siberia/Russia wether by bike or by train (Transsib'). We want to start in a year. Can anyone, who perhaps has travelled by a similar route, give any information about the budget such a trip will take, and also the time which will be necessary (we want to take time, do you think one year would be a good estimation)??? Thanks for any hints!

Hi Ulli,
try the site of Sybille and Marco, http://www.sima.li/5_sima/i_faq.htm#reisefinanzen
They rode about the same way you want to, but went on to Japan and South America thereagter and paid about CHF 20.000,- per person and year (including flights to South America)
Regards
Lars

Hallo Ulli
Is ja bezahlbar. Die Uebernachtung geht von 0,00 Euro (Zelt oder Einladung) bis 150U$ wennze dich schlecht fühlst. In Moskau eher 450U$, höhö.
Sprich, deine Frage kannst du dir auf der Strasse nur selbst beantworten.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
