getting out of vlad
gday guys
couple of questions , there is a lot of info getting into vlad but what about getting out ? we want to ship 4 bikes from vlad back to melbourne and have a shipping company in mind , if only they would respond to my emails , but what sort of time are we looking at to get them out ?
is the customs equally as difficult going out as coming in ?
and do we need to be there the whole time while coustoms figure out what to do ?
thanks in advance for any help
mick

Hi Tucan,
When we left Vladi for Korea by ferry we had to do a lot of paperwork. The ship agent went with us to different customs do prepare the papers.
I think its better to be there personally and plan in a few extra days. Officials in Russia have new ideas every day ;-)
We had also a problem wit our visa. It was expired for 10 hours when the ferry left the harbour. They made us leave the ship again and to take our bikes out. It was hard work to prolong the visa but we could stay another week in wonderful Russia :-)
Greetings Patrick

When you do a shipment, everyone - PLEASE enter it in the shipping database so that we ALL have acess to all the info easily!!
Link is on left... "Shipments by Travellers"
Also of course research there before you ask here.
thanks, Grant

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
