Question Kazakhstan Business Visa

Has anyone applied for a Kazakhstan Business visa?

If so, how did you fulfill the following (taken from HERE)...

"In addition, a cover letter from the applicant’s company, briefly summarizing the purpose of the visit and including some information about the company or organization should be attached".

I can claim to be self-employed but making up an acceptable story will be difficult. The last thing I want is for my application to be refused as that would screw my plans completely!

Any help/advice and better still EXPERIENCE would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Sorry to ask dumb questions - how come you need a business visa instead of tourist one?

Time. As far as I'm aware the longest tourist visa is Triple Entry/90 days.

My route will take me through Kazakhstan four times over a six month period this year and a fifth, possibly sixth time in March 2014. I will be leaving my bike in Kyrgyzstan over the winter and flying in/out of Almaty.

Never got a kazakh business visa, but in my experience, a letter on company letterhead (can be a mates company) saying that you want to travel to Kazakhstan to explore business opportunities and avenues for co-operation between [your company] and Kazakh companies, is usually enough for that sort of thing.

If you have any friend with a company, its ideal. Its completely non committal.

Depending on your time frame, look into the tourist one and then afterwards getting a new tourist one. Not ideal, but as said, depending on your itinerary and timing, it might me easier and cheaper than a business one...

I'm in the process myself for the Russian business one as I will also need to enter and exit 4 times in approx. 4-5 months window. Encountered the same issues as you described but found a company (here in Belgium) that can assist. Just waiting to get an accurate quote at the moment...

Thanks Walter. I'll have to put some thought into the 'who' part of that but I like the idea.

I'd need three visa's to cover the time periods. A little more hassle before I leave home is preferable to two more applications on the road. That's ten days processing time plus the associated costs of staying in a big city whilst waiting. Not to mention ten days I'd rather be elsewhere.
The Business visa looks expensive but all things considered I think it will work out cheaper.

I too have applied for a 12 month Russian Business visa. The difference is there's a 'template' for the Russian letter.

How it panned out...

Not many replies but a few hundred views so here's what happened...

Having also applied for a 12 month Russian business visa I used that supporting letter 'template' and introduced a paragraph based on Colebatch's suggested wording.

With the help of Google images I 'borrowed' a logo suitable to my business and modified it in iPhoto. I then combined the two in word, chose a suitable font to finish off the letterhead and printed out my letter.

I made my application in person at the Kazakh embassy in London (opposite Victoria & Albert Museum with m/c parking right outside) and collected my visa 1 week later.

My LOI was supplied by Stantours.

Thanks very much for following up JM.

Its very useful for the forum when people take advice, they follow up with how useful the advice was, how they applied the advice, did it work etc.
