Kirgistan is visa free
Beside the Pamir closing in Tadschikistan there are good news.
Please read the following info:
Dear Alexandra & Andre
Thank you for your letter,
Yes, the President has signed the law on non-visa regime for additional 44 countries.
The law will come into force on Friday, July 27, 2012.
Citizens of developed countries, including US, Canada, Australia, all EU countries (except for Bulgaria, Romania and Cyprus) etc., will not need visa to stay up to 60 days in KG.
If you are in Kyrgyzstan already it will be not any problem..
We have talked with the Main Border Control office in Bishkek and they confirm to us that the border Kyzyl Art (Bor Dobe) between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan is open for the foreigners,
Please let us know if there any questions,
Best regards,
Nurzhan Omuralieva (Ms.)

Woo hoo!
We're in Moscow at the moment and heading east. We couldn't get all the visas sorted at home in Canada so decided to give the 'Stans a miss in this direction (aside from Kazakhstan) but maybe we can pop down to Kyrgyzstan on the way to Almaty.

Confirmed. A couple of friends landed here (Bishkek) on Friday and just got a stamp in their passport instead of having to buy a visa etc.

I would make Kyrgz a priority on a trip to this part of the world. IMHO, it'll be a highlight of your trip.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
