Hi guys, thanks for all support.
We got to The border in the end and Patrick came to collect us.
No good news on the bike front though. Just got an email from Patrick, the crankshaft is dead and need new piston.
None of those are available in central asia so we will see tomorrow.

Another option is buy a cheap 4 stroke moped in Bishkek, Sergei could arrange papers i think as he just made arrangments for 2 USA dudes who brougt cars here getting correct papers in there name
Mark manlys XR125 sh@t it' self in Baku and ended his trip, Ed march runs on about how good his C90 is but he changed engine once and has the cases split more times than i change my socks and on his last trip spent alot of time of trains.
I think you need at least a 250cc as small engines running all day with weight/bags is alot of stress, also water cooled over air cooled

Hi guys, as you wondered, the engine self destruction was caused by our own neglicence!
Across europe, the few times we checked oil levels, at the beginning of our trip, on both bikes, it was always at max level. So we did not check daily... After few days, in Turkey, Alistair's bike was suddenly with almost no oil. We added about .75ml of oil ( 0.9ml is full!)....
What we think happened is that our mechanic probably overfilled it, so for the first week it did look like the bikes were not burning any oil.... That must have started the problem on one of our bikes, grinding little by little to the engine pretty much seizing.... Silly i know! So used to modern bikes that don't burn any oil!

Hi Wesley.
We actually bought a 150cc Chinese motor and built it inn...... no welding needed. Cast is a pure copy!
They are on the way again, visiting Murghab and Pamirs.
Looking forward to see you down in Osh one day.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
