need help shipping motor parts in UlaanBaatar, Mongolia
Hello,
My brother is currently on the road to Mongolia (departed from romania - MONGOLIA). He crushed back in Ukraine and the brake disk got distorted a little bit. I have to send him now a new one in Ulaan Baatar, where he will be in a week or so.
There is no problem with the actual shipping, but i don't have a person that I may send it to. Do any of you know how may I proceed? Do you have any contacts there? People you met, places you stayed that you know that are reliable and where I can send this small package (about 5 kilos).
Thank you
First post here, sorry I've started with a help request....
Hope my thread is where it should be

Suggestion:
1: send it via DHL and instruct them to keep parcel until collection - they may well need copy of your brother's passport-
2: send to a Bed & Breakfast known by other travelers-

Thanks Bertrand. I'm sending it via Fedex. They are the only one here that send from "person" to "person". The other ones sent packages only from one commercial firm to another. It's pretty weird and a lot of documents involved...

Last year we had some parts sent to us in Ulaan Bataar by DHL. We just had them adressed to the DHL office, and included a note that they were to be picked up by us. This worked great and only took 3 days from Aus.

Took me like 2 weeks to get some parts shipped by FedEx from the USA to UB in 2003. It was caught up in customs in CHINA of all places.

use The Oasis
if you are going to use The Oasis as your base (suggest you do as its probably the best place to use whilst in UB).
you can use their address.

If you're using DHL...I think you'll can only have it delivered to their office....which is behind the hospital. Interesting place to find
Greet Sabine and Renee for me...
