Massive road work
Is taking place between Khabarovsk and Vladivostok as we speak.
Roads are all dug up ,, pipes being laid..
From a business friend,, who just came back from there. He says locals are flying between the two cities.

Russia Korea Ferry
Anyone able to clarify? I can only find that the DSB ferry runs once per week from Vladivostok to Donghae. Is this the only service Russia to Korea or is the Dong Chun service still struggling on?
Any timetable info welcome
Thanks
Chris

Our container leaving Seattle next week is due in Vladivostok on June 20th. Reports of road works for 750kms worried me so I checked with Yuri Melnikov in Valdivostok and he has replied saying the only major roadworks in the region is a 40km stretch connecting airport to Vladivostok - in preparation for a big summit in 2012.
So hopefully not going to be as bad as we thought. (fingers crossed)

Ferry details
Hi,
I haven't used the ferry but what Wendy Choi in Korea advised me was:
The schedue from DONG HAE PORT TO VLAD : Every Sunday(One time per week)
FERRY NAME : DBS(FROM DONG HAE PORT TO VLAD/RUSSIA)
UNDER 500CC : USD200/BIKE
OVER 500CC : USD300/BIKE
PASSENGER : ABT USD200(BASE ON CLASS, IT GONNA BE DIFFERENT FROM USD 180 TO USD480)
---> You can pay to DBS FERRY COMPANY DIRECTLY when you arrive at Dong hae port.
Local charge in Dong Hae port(DBS) may happen.
From looking at their web site DBS CRUISE FERRY it appears they sail from Vladivostok back to Dong Hae every Wednesday at 1400hrs and the trip takes 20 hours.
Hope this helps
