Nice campsite in south-west Russia on your way to Mongolia or Kazakhstan

Hello all !

I tested yesterday night the campsite Makashevskie Dvoriki, near Borissogblesk (on E38, between Voronej and Saratov). They propose wood-made bungalows, for 10 to 15 euros a night.
I highly recommend this brand new place.

My comments :
Very nice welcome in the middle of the night ! The campsite is located on the border of a small village, 15km away from the main road (E38), right next to a beautiful river. The bungalows in wood are simple but very pleasant. The hotel keeper speaks some english and french, which is not very common in Russia and highly appreciated.
The mattress are thin, but I spent a great night anyways. Be careful the place is not located by all GPS (but with Google Maps no pb).

Hi, you also have the Gold Camel campsite, near Kosh Agassh ( called Tydtuaryk)

https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_..._District.html

We spent a night there two years ago on our way to Mongolia, and again two nights last year while touring the Altai.
The most extraordinary campsite with the most extraordinary weird ( in a good way!) people. Gers camp but if full you can pitch your tent.

Amazing views, amazing rides around in tracks and true off road. Amazing hills to climbs and ride to the top for the most amazing views.

Definitely worth a stay!

Another nice place where I slept last night, B&B near Ufa, hold by a nice family.
Very confortable and quiet, 300m away from the M5/E30 road.
Cheap enough also (around 20 euros the night).

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
