Pamir actually closed or open ?
This tread should not be about the attacs in this area but just about the situation in the Pamir.
It is about if it is open or not?
Has anyone any useful information about that?
The other tread with the warning is not in the Nothern Asia bord anymore so it is not useful for me there to look in other boards than this to get informations.
And sadly also not helpful answers there....
So can anyone confirm the rumors of the Pamir being closed at the moment?

I did not read anywhere about any plan to close Pamir, or about it being closed.
The only thing I heard is that they closed the road from Khorogh to Dushambe, but only for people on bicycles.
It is not first hand info, as I am at home in Italy at the moment, but it comes from a friend who is in Kyrgyzstan and plan to cross Pamir in the next few days.
I will update here as soon as I will receive more infos

Someone wrote it in one facebook group.
I also dont think it is true, but I will be going there soon so I am trying to gather informations....
And yes, I will travel there even with that what happened.
My opinion:
If you let these idiots fear you, than they have won !!!!
And I dont think I will let them win.

To add: We took the Northern route (week before the attack) and while the road is crappy the views over the pass are really nice.

My friend just entered Tajikistan coming from Kyrgyzstan, Bor Dobo border, so, yes, Pamir is definitely open. At least for tourists on motorbikes.

Just arrived in Murghab, took the northern route from Duschanbe to Khalai Khum, on to Osh and through the Wakhan Valley.
Lots of checkpoints and some policeman stopped US in the middle of the road to write down or details, but Pamir is definitely open.
Friends took the southern route after the attack, they did not report any problems either.

Thanks Nikklas, your information is very helpful for a lot of people.
If you need a good coffee in Osh just come over to the shop.
