I have the 3 year tourist visa. When I was living in Georgia (the country) this last winter. I used Rainier World Travel Inc. and I would recommend them to any US citizen.
It took about 3 weeks to send the passport from Georgia to RWTI and back. They took it to the Russian consulate in Seattle and sent it back. All in all it cost me about $450.
Only problems I had were Russian border guards calling their superiors to look at my visa because they thought it was fake. Then they would call someone who would inform them that this is in fact ok.
