Ever heard of this bike ???
Hi while looking through a bike magazine for sale section i came across an ad for a MZ COUNTRY !! it looks just what you need , 500cc rotax engine (strong & reliable) kick & electric start , enclosed chain case ( fantastic) 9k & only £950 !!!spare's a plenty etc .I've never heard of it before but if ya looking for a simple bike that does what it says on the box then this looks good . Better than a 500 armstrong as it has an electric start & better than a MT350 harley cos its got that bigger engine .If it was closer to home i'd get it myself !!
any thoughts ??
bodge
ps
turn up at a HU meeting & you'll be sure your the only one there on one

Huge seat, 150kg dry, and about 34bhp. Won't be the fastest, but should work fine. If that is the rotax engine that MuZ relaunched the brand with, then it is supposed to be a decent lump...
I'd only wonder about sparesn when at large...

MZ country
This bike is rare in the UK, it was a MZ 500R with minor mods, mostly cosmetic. Check the exhaust system if you intend to buy as they rust badly and are as rare as rocking horse poo. The other parts should be available as the engine is used in other bikes and the rest of the parts are used on other MZs. I have seen one with a sidecar fitted that looked good as well.
Cheers,
Ade.

MZ not the only one
The MZ was not the only 500 Rotax engined bike, Jawa fitted into their 350 two stroke chassis and Matchless used it in the G80, a lot more expensive than the others and no better, the ex-British army Armstrong and Harley-Davidson, yes produced in milwaukee, use it and all are perfectly capable bikes for travelling.

If it is anything like the MT350 / 500 you will have 'fun' I have ridden the MT350 & 500 for work (Army) have a look here MT Riders Club
would say the Rotax engine is superb just look back in history & see including the BMW F650 GS.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
