1999 Defender 110 TD5 Hard Top, UK
My Defender 110 is for sale due to a change of plans. I bought this for Sahara trips, but alas didn't take it (It's been to France & Spain only). Due to a new baby and planned emigration to Aus. there's now no chance of me using it.
It's for sale on ebay, but for anyone who is already a member here, I would throw in the following kit too (if wanted).
- Spare clutch, used but good.
- Bumper mounted sand-plate rack & PSPs
- Hi-lift jack
- 20L plastic MoD water jerries x4
- 20L metal MoD fuel jerries x2
- Rear seat, with lap belt (fits in the same place as 2nd row in CSW)
- Rear bed (Well conceived 20mm steel frame, securely holds luggage in place too & has rear 12V sockets & cabling)
- 4x original 7.5 tyres on original rims.
- Spare waterpump, used but good
- Some tools, accessories & other spares not listed above
I think it would make a good expedition vehicle, it's very nearly ready, a few more spares, new shock absorbers & spare wheel carrier is all I had planned. It's ready for some work on the rear door too.
Any questions, let me know.
Regards,
Ian

Details of the bed
Quote:
Hi Ian
Could you e-mail me some photos of the bed set-up please?
Thanks.

As requested, here is a gallery of photos of the bed shown inside & outside my 110- and the fixings used in an older red 110 CSW I had.
magmaimages.com
It can fold up over the second row of seats in a 5 door 110. The front section can be hinged up to make a high-back with headrests for the 2nd row of seats. Works well with foam mattresses (not supplied- I used Ikea mattresses off my kid's bunk beds).
Sleeps 2 in complete comfort (I'm 6'5"/197cm), or 3 like sardines!
I previously used it in a 110 CSW, the red vehicle. It fits to the bench-seat attachment points.
I also wrote a bit of a spec for the bed:

Let me know if there are any further questions.
Regards,
Ian

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
