Hi Guys, its time to part with my Discovery I after two and half years in Africa. So if anyone is keen to start there trip from Malawi or I can drive her to South Africa for you. We drove her from UK with only one hassle, the headlight fell out in Northern Kenya. She's totally reliable.
She's an N Reg, December 96
300 TDI engine (not the original) and has burnt zero oil since I have had her.
V5 Document up to date with Chassis and Engine number correct.
Snorkel
4 New 205 R 16 Tyres
Heavy duty Gaz Suspension and Tubular Struts front and rear
170 000 miles on the clock plus i'm still using her
50 000 miles left on the new timing belt fitted at 158 000 miles
New Water Pump
New Fan Belt Tensioner
Amp fitted for Ipod connection
No stupid extra's to go wrong
Engine oil and filters (fuel, eng and air) just done
Tahiti Blue with Alloys
Manual gearbox
I am a mechanic and have looked after her well.
Whats needs doing is the rear electric windows need a new relay and a new primary fuel filter (water trap), some cosmetics but hardly anything. They will easily fit in your suit case on you flight out. Axle and Transmision oil change.
I can throw in Sand matts, gerry cans for fuel and water, two portable gas cookers, table, chair, two mattresses, a basic tent, plates, pans, etc.
We can sort the V5 out and then you can get a new Carnet from the UK which I can help you with, plus any help and advise on visa's, route's etc. I have been overlanding africa for 14 years so have a good idea.
I don't want to sell this vehicle but commitments are sending me back to NZ for a while. I will be totally honest about her and help you in anyway I can.
